EMI invested a wholly owned subsidiary, EMI-Asia, in Beijing, China in 1997. EMI-Asia is capable of system R&D, sales, commissioning, maintenance, technical consulting, spare parts stock and defective parts repairs. As a division of EMI-Asia, GGC-Asia offers x-ray thickness gauge from Global Gauge Corporation (GGC) of the US to the customers in China and other parts of Asia, and also provides on-site technical services within 24 hours of customer calls and spare parts supply per customer requests. According to customer’s needs, EMI provides all types of x-ray thickness gauge systems for steels, aluminum alloys, aluminum composite materials, copper alloys, paper and plastics. All equipment enjoys joint services offered by GGC-Asia and GGC. GGC and GGC-Asia currently have provided more than 100 sets of x-ray thickness measurement gauges for steel and aluminum processing industries in China, and have earned a good reputation for its advanced technology, superior system configuration, stable performance, easy of operation, prompt parts supply, reasonable price and all-round services. GGC supplied an aluminum foil gauge to an Italian end user Industrie Laminazione Allumino S.p.A of Cagliari, Sardegua, Italy in 2004, and this foil gauge successfully meets all customer requirements in the first acceptance test. After then, GGC have supplied many aluminum foil measurement gauges to the end users in the U.S. and European Union countries. GGC and GGC-Asia will provide a new type of aluminum foil gauges, with excellent performance and reasonable price for the Chinese market in 2008. In the second half year of 2008, GGC and GGC-Asia will supply coating weight gauges.

GGC have supplied many x-ray thickness gauges used in the medium steel plate mills and hot strip mill areas. Its maximum thickness measured is up to 50mm. The development of higher energy level sensor packages is underway. The maximum measurable thickness can be extended to 60mm or higher. GGC is specialized in manufacturing x-ray thickness gauge, and have a dedicated team of experienced personnel working toward the needs of the customers and the market. With improvements of the technology, GGC will continuously provide newer, more advanced, stable and high precision x-ray thickness gauges to customers in the future.

EMI will introduce other type of material inspection equipment to customers in the years to come.
